The previous SID had failed beyond repair. Speeding on the B4069 has been a long standing problem and there was a marked decrease in incidents when the first SID was installed.
The chosen high visibility SID is a proven deterrent for speeding motorists. The data from the device is used to assist the Christian Malford Community Speedwatch Team in targeting specific days and times of day when the problem is at its worst so that they can patrol for the best effect.
